free meals for all students

Plainview ISD qualifies and operates under the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP), allowing the serving of breakfast and lunch at no cost to all enrolled students. There’s no work required for families to establish free meals for their Plainview students. If your student is enrolled, they eat for free!

We encourage all families to consider allowing your student(s) to eat with us each day in the cafeteria. Apart from the money saving aspect, the meals served follow the strict nutritional guidelines set in place by the USDA, ensuring nutrient dense meal services that include student favorites like pizza, burgers, and spaghetti.

But is pizza healthy? In our world, yes! The dough used is 100% whole grain, the mozzarella cheese is low fat/protein packed, and the tomato sauce is fortified in important vitamins and minerals. Commercial pizza options are great in moderation, but parents of students can rest assured the version they’re receiving at school is both delicious and nutritious, as well as free of charge!

Menu promotions, student favorites,

and more

A promotional poster for Doritos Walking Tacos, featuring a bag of Doritos Nacho Cheese chips with taco toppings. Text on the poster announces Build Your Own starting in January.

We take feeding Plainview students seriously, and that means doing the most! Each month’s menu is injected with promotions that entice and excite. In addition, we take the time and put in the effort to understand the preferences of PISD students through surveys and taste tests, then base our menu cycles off of the things we discover they enjoy the most. Catering to the student population is key in serving them best, which is something we understand, preach, and practice—year in, and year out.

A promotional poster for World Bee Day featuring honeycomb images, a bee, and bees flying around. The event is on May 20th during lunchtime, encouraging guests to look for a sticker under their tray to win a bee-themed prize. The poster includes the SISF logo and a website for menu viewing.
A group of six women wearing matching colorful tie-dye T-shirts that say "Welcome to Casa" stand together, posing for a photo in front of balloon decorations. The balloons are purple, yellow, green, and blue, arranged in clusters overhead, with some balloons on the ground forming columns. The women are smiling and appear to be celebrating an event or welcoming guests.

Still on the fence regarding packing a lunch, or having your student eat at school? Come see firsthand the great things we’re doing Plainview cafeterias each day to help you choose! Parents and other family members are encouraged to check our menus, pick out a day that looks good, and come through the lunch line with their student. We’d love to see you there and to serve your family.

Parents are

welcome!
